ZAGREB, April 20 (Hina) - Along with a positive opinion on Croatia's EU
membership application, the European Commission on Tuesday in
Strasbourg adopted a proposal for the European Council to establish
European partnership with Croatia to assist the country on its road to
full EU membership.#L#
European partnership was drafted according to the model of accession
partnership, intended for the ten countries that are to join the EU on
May 1.
The partnership was drafted according to the country's specific needs
and defines priorities for the medium term (12-24 month) and the long
term (3-4 years), the EC said in a statement.
The partnership will help the Croatian government to concentrate
reform efforts and available resources where they are most needed.
Priorities identified in the European partnership will also have an
effect on the allocation of the EU's financial assistance, the EC
said.
