police officers were killed and 11 were wounded in a shoot-out between
members of the U.N. law enforcement mission in a prison in the city of
Kosovska Mitrovica on Saturday, the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) said

Circumstances of this grave incident are not still clarified, a
spokesman for the UN police, Neeraj Singh said, adding that the exact
number of casualties had not yet been known. Five police officers of
the UNMIK were in critical condition.
An investigation is under way.
The local television reported that the situation in Kosovska Mitrovica
was stable and under control.
According to unconfirmed reports the incident erupted when US and
Jordanian police officers started to quarrel over Iraq. The row was
followed by the shooting.
According to sources close to the UNMIK police, the two dead were
police women from the United States, and another four wounded were
also their American colleagues.
