The club's director and the reporter sustained light injuries in the
attack which happened around 22:30 hours Friday, after a semi-final
match of the Goodyear tournament, which is being held in the Croatian
capital over the weekend, the Zagreb police reported.
The police did not say what kind of injuries were inflicted on the two
men, but the media reported that Zezelj had a broken rib and stitches
on his forehead.
According to the police report, upon the end of the match the Crvena
Zvezda director and the journalist were going towards their car with
Serbian licence plates, parked in front of the Panorama hotel, when
the six young men attacked them and began beating them with fists and
legs. One of the attackers beat them by a stone. A police patrol was
near and intervened very soon. The five attackers managed to escape
but one was caught by the patrol. The police did not reveal his
identity.
The Zagreb police said that there were no omissions in security they
organised for this tournament.
The police also added that the same security measures would be pun in
place for Sunday's match between Zagreb's Cibona club and another
club from Belgrade called 'Reflex'.
