The five-member delegation, led by the new head of the IMF Mission to
Croatia, Dimitri Demekas and including the IMF's permanent
representative to Croatia, John Norregaard, met HNB governor Zeljko
Rohatinski and his associates, who informed them about the latest
monetary developments and forecasts, the HNB said in a statement.
Talks on possibilities and conditions for continuing cooperation
between Croatia and the IMF will resume with representatives of the
government, ministries, the Croatian Reconstruction and Development
Bank, Croatian Roads company, the Pension Insurance Agency, and some
other institutions, the statement said.
According to earlier reports, the IMF delegation and Croatian
authorities will also start negotiations on a new stand-by
arrangement. The value and growth of the foreign debt, the
stabilisation of its share in GDP, and the state deficit will be the
main topics of these talks.
