ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - The Interior Ministry has reinstated 20 of 34 unassigned police officers who had been protesting in front of the government for 613 days while another three have been given jobs in the Prison System
Administration, the ministry said on Thursday.

unassigned police officers who had been protesting in front of the
government for 613 days while another three have been given jobs in
the Prison System Administration, the ministry said on Thursday.#L#
Police began the protest in mid-2001 after being proclaimed surplus
labour and given the status of unassigned officers. The protest ended
late last year after the new Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and
the new Interior Minister Marijan Mlinaric pledged that all those who
qualified would be given their jobs back.
