PULA, March 12 (Hina) - About 5,500 Italian citizens residing in Croatia's Istria, Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Lika-Senj counties will soon be able to elect their Committee for Italians Abroad, the Italian minority's representative in
the Croatian parliament, Furio Radin, said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters in the northern Adriatic city of Pula, Radin
said such committees, the so-called Com.It.Es, already existed all
over the world and that one would now be set up in Croatia.
A Com.It.Es is in charge of ensuring the exercising of the Italian
minority's rights in a specific region, cultural and other social
activities of Italians. The committee will act in cooperation with the
Italian Consulate General in Croatia.
