ZAGREB/TOKYO, April 7 (Hina) - The Croatia-Japan trade is insufficient, but there is room to promote it. The two countries expressed interest in the modernisation of some Croatian ports and in that light a presentation of the seaport
of Rijeka and its economic possibilities will be held in Tokyo in May, Croatian and Japanese officials said in Tokyo on Wednesday.
ZAGREB/TOKYO, April 7 (Hina) - The Croatia-Japan trade is insufficient,
but there is room to promote it. The two countries expressed interest
in the modernisation of some Croatian ports and in that light a
presentation of the seaport of Rijeka and its economic possibilities
will be held in Tokyo in May, Croatian and Japanese officials said in
Tokyo on Wednesday.#L#
Croatia's delegation to Japan, led by Economy, Labour and
Entrepreneurship Minister Branko Vukelic, took part in a ministerial
conference on the strengthening of peace and economic development in
the Western Balkan countries.
During the third day of the visit to Tokyo, the Croatian delegation
held talks with Japanese Finance Minister Sadakazuo Tanigaky who
supported the Croatian government's efforts invested in achieving
economic growth and promoting economic cooperation with Japan.
Croatia's officials also held talks with representatives of the Japan
External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Economy, Trade and
Indistry Ministry. Minister Vukelic also held talks with the governor
of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
Vukellic attended a ceremony at which decorations by the Croatian
President were presented to Sadako Ogati and Tadater Konoeu. The
decorations were bestowed by Croatian Ambassadot to Japan Drago
Buvac.
