ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation led by Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship Minister Branko Vukelic, which is attending a ministerial conference on the strengthening of peace and economic development in the Western
Balkans in Tokyo, on Tuesday attended a meeting of ministers from participating countries and representatives of the Japanese employers' federation Nippon Keidanren.
ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation led by Economy, Labour
and Entrepreneurship Minister Branko Vukelic, which is attending a
ministerial conference on the strengthening of peace and economic
development in the Western Balkans in Tokyo, on Tuesday attended a
meeting of ministers from participating countries and representatives
of the Japanese employers' federation Nippon Keidanren.#L#
Minister Vukelic and the state secretary at the National Office for a
Development Strategy, Ante Babic, spoke about the economic situation
in Croatia at the meeting.
The Croatian delegation today also met Croatia's honorary consul to
the Republic of Korea, Myung Kwan-Hyun, with whom they discussed the
need to improve the promotion of investment possibilities in Croatia.
The two sides also agreed about the need to continue previously
launched activities regarding the signing of a bilateral agreement on
the stimulation and protection of investments.
The honorary consul invited Minister Vukelic to visit Korea and the
minister invited the consult to visit Croatia at the beginning of next
year. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Samsung, who
showed interest in the modernisation of the Sisak oil refinery and the
Rijeka port.
The Croatian delegation met representatives of the Japanese-Croatian
Parliamentary League, which gathers influential Japanese politicians.
Minister Vukelic invited members of the League to visit Croatia.
The Croatian officials also met a representative of the Toyota Tsusho
Corporation which is interested in opening a factory for the
production of compressors for air-conditioners in cars and Japan's
Senior Deputy Foreign Minister Ichiro Aizawa.
