According to a press release issued by the ministry, Suker welcomed
the World Bank's activities in Croatia and voiced the government's
readiness to continue cooperating with this financial institution.
The talks also revolved around the elaboration and contents of a
strategy for Croatia from 2004 to 2007. The strategy is being compiled
by the World Bank in cooperation with the Croatian government. This
document is a basis for all activities of the bank in Croatia in the
said period.
The officials of Croatia and the Bank agreed that the document should
reflect the basic goal of the government, namely the preparation of
the country for admission to the European Union, which the Bank fully
supports and for which it offers its financial help and advice, the
release said.
