"I do not know if the attacks will resume today, but if they do, they
will be met," the Serb electronic media in the northern part of
Kosovska Mitrovica quoted Covic as saying.
Covic said that the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) and the Kosovo Force
(KFOR) were unable to establish order in Kosovo.
Speaking about yesterday's incidents in the province, which claimed
the lives of 22 people, Covic said they proved that "the concept of
multiethnicity has failed".
"One must find new solutions which contain the reality of life, which
is that the Albanian community or individuals hate the Serb community.
Serbs and their property must be protected and if the international
community cannot do it, assistance must be sought", Covic said.
"Our army and police together with the international community must do
it", he added.
Commenting on the burning of mosques in Serbia, Covic said it was
"ugly" and added that "churches are not rebuilt by setting fire to
mosques and vice versa".
