The demonstrators said the detainees were arrested on the basis of
indictments issued by authorities in Belgrade. The rallies passed
without incidents.
Another rally took place on the Pristina-Gnjilane road which crosses
Gracanica, blocked early this morning by about 1,000 Serb elementary
and high school pupils protesting against last night's armed assault
in the Serb enclave of Caglavica where one of their fellow pupils was
wounded by unidentified persons. Teachers, numerous locals, and
workers in Serb companies and institutions joined in the blockade.
Also protesting against the shooting were several hundred residents of
Caglavica and high schools pupils, who rallied this morning on the
Pristina-Skopje road, which passes through their village. The boy's
condition is critical.
Members of the peacekeeping Kosovo Force and the local United Nations
Mission blocked nearby villages, preventing Serbs from reaching
Caglavica and joining in the protest.
