John Paul II accepted the City Council's decision to declare him an honorary citizen of Dubrovnik.

Puljic, on Wednesday handed to Dubrovnik mayor Dubravka Suica and the
chairman of the City Council, Nikola Obuljen, a letter from the Holy
See by which Pope John Paul II accepted the City Council's decision to
declare him an honorary citizen of Dubrovnik.#L#
The City Council adopted the decision at a session on February 2.
City representatives will hand the Pope a charter proclaiming him an
honorary citizen at an audience in the Vatican.
