ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - Croatian and foreign associations for environmental protection, including the World Wildlife Fund, the Green Action and the Drava River League, called on the Croatian government and state institutions (the
Croatian Waters and the National Water Management) on Wednesday to prevent the digging of gravel and the eroding of the Drava River bed near the Croatian-Slovene border, which has already resulted in disastrous environmental changes on some 3,500 hectares of this important European eco-system.

environmental protection, including the World Wildlife Fund, the Green
Action and the Drava River League, called on the Croatian government
and state institutions (the Croatian Waters and the National Water
Management) on Wednesday to prevent the digging of gravel and the
eroding of the Drava River bed near the Croatian-Slovene border, which
has already resulted in disastrous environmental changes on some 3,500
hectares of this important European eco-system.#L#
Speaking at a news conference in the Green Action offices,
representatives of Croatian and foreign Green associations presented
activities they are launching, stressing that "it is the eleventh hour
to do something to save the Drava River".
