ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina) - A total of 284 square kilometres of land was cleared of mines last year, or 257 per cent more than planned, Croatian Mine Action Centre spokeswoman Kristina Ikic Banicek said on Thursday at a meeting with a
regional mine clearance agency in Slavonski Brod.

The purpose of the meeting was to improve cooperation and the exchange
of information on land mines in Slavonski Brod County and to raise the
public awareness of the risk of land mines.
A similar meeting was also held in Pozega.
