SARAJEVO, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Bosniak member of the three-man
Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sulejman Tihic, on Saturday assumed
the chairmanship of the presidency for the next eight months.#L#
Tihic took over the chairmanship of the collective presidency from its
Croat member, Dragan Covic, as part of a procedure which ensures that
all three members chair the collective presidency for the equal amount
of time.
Speaking after a special session of the state presidency in Sarajevo,
Tihic expressed hope that during his chairmanship Bosnia-Herzegovina
would become a member of NATO's Partnership for Peace programme and
meet conditions for the signing of a Stabilisation and Association
Agreement with the EU.
The Serb member of the presidency is Borislav Paravac.
