After visiting the highway building site at Dugopolje earlier in the
day, Sanader said he was satisfied with the pace of construction
works.
Addressing the session, Public Works Minister Bozidar Kalmeta said
that the construction of a bridge between Komorna and the Peljesac
peninsula could start next year.
Both Sanader and Kalmeta insisted that the construction of the highway
should be accompanied with the construction of connecting roads.
Sanader reaffirmed the commitment of his government to extend the
Zagreb-Split highway further south to Dubrovnik, and reiterated that
the construction of a highway through the Bosnian coastal town of Neum
and of the Komorna-Peljesac bridge were compatible projects rather
than projects excluding one another.
