PRISTINA, Jan 22(Hina) - In the four and a half years since liberation,
Kosovo has made big progress in all areas, President Ibrahim Rugova
said on Thursday in his first address to the Kosovo parliament.#L#
He stressed that Kosovo institutions, in the two years since their
establishment, had functioned successfully, notably the parliament,
which he recalled had adopted a dozen laws, resolutions and
declarations in the interest of Kosovo's citizens.
One of the priorities in the future will be the integration of
minorities, Rugova said, voicing confidence that they too would show
the will to integrate into Kosovo society.
He said special attention would be dedicated to the possibility of
representing Kosovo by opening offices around the world, relations
with neighbouring countries, and shedding light on people gone missing
during the war.
Rugova reiterated that independent and democratic Kosovo, integrated
into the European community, had considerably stabilised the region.
