Separate collective agreements are requested by the physicians' union,
the police union, the union of employees in the national penitentiary
system, the customs officers' union and the therapists' union, which
are all members of the URSH.
URSH leader Boris Kunst told a news conference on Thursday there was
no reason for panic among some other unions due to the doctors' union
request for the conclusion of a separate collective agreement for
their profession.
Kunst believes that the current system of collective agreements is
unnatural as in some cases no difference is made between some
professions or occupations.
The URSH insists on an additional meeting with Prime Minister Ivo
Sanader, besides the one which the PM will hold on Friday with leaders
of six trade union federations. In this context, Kunst said that the
URSH represented 30,000 civil servants.
