Present at the signing was also the head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Croatia, Vincent Degert.
The non-repayable funds from this third deed of donation for the said project are earmarked for the further strengthening of the information system of the Croatian Geodetic Administration, the training of its employees and raising public awareness about possibilities of the contemporary land register and cadastral book system, Minister Suker said.
According to him, the implementation of the project is necessary for the establishment of an efficient real estate system, which is a condition for a functional real estate market and urban planning at the local and national level. The real estate market is also one of the most demanding chapters on which Croatia is negotiating with the EU and the realisation of the project should significantly help Croatia in the process, Suker said.
The funds for the project are managed by the World Bank which has already allocated a EUR24 million loan for this project.
