ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - A new slipway has been constructed on the
bank of the Sava River at the village of Galdovo near the city of Sisak, some
50 kilometres southeast of Zagreb. The slipway was built by the Sisak Port
Authority and it is the only river slipway in Croatia with boat-yard
services. The construction of the slipway, which will be officially
opened next week by Tourism and Development Minister Bozidar Kalmeta, cost 20
million kuna.
The slipway offers services such as ship overhaul, technical inspection
and maintenance.
Ten highly skilled specialists will work there for the time being.
Local managers say this area also offers favourable conditions for the
establishment of a business zone.
