Andrija Hebrang of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) criticised the Croatian Television leadership saying that it pressured its journalists Sladjana Bukovac to dismiss information that her father Ivan killed himself after watching "Latinica".
Monday's broadcast discussed the legacy of the first Croatian President Franjo Tudjman.
The HDZ deputy said he had verified information that the director of the Croatian Television Programme, Tanja Simic, "exerted pressure on the journalist to dismiss the information or she'll be sacked".
Croatian Radio Television chief director Mirko Galic called on deputies to refrain from comments until the case was investigated and until it was proved that the national television was responsible for the suicide of the war veteran.
"Let's wait for the truth and not go so fast and use someone's death for squaring of accounts," Galic said and added that the matter would be discussed if the investigation showed that he and his associates were responsible.
Pero Kovacevic of the Croatian Party of Rights requested that Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic investigate the case.
MPs continued discussing the report on the Croatian Radio Television business performance.
