Currently, Belgrade is not cooperating with us, del Ponte said. Local officials must be aware that there is no way to avoid meeting all conditions, she added. Unless progress is made, my assessment of Serbia's cooperation before the UN Security Council next week will not be positive, del Ponte told Radio B 92.
I am angry that Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic are still at large and disappointed with Belgrade for not arresting them yet, del Ponte said on Thursday during talks with participants in a conference dedicated to the rule of law, organised by a nongovernmental organisation.
It is scandalous that they are still free, del Ponte said. I will not talk about Mladic, because I believe he is listening and watching tv, she said. Let him come to The Hague first and then we will talk about him, del Ponte said.
She called on the authorities in Serbia to shed light on attacks on activists who supported the work of the ICTY and to support the NGO community in the country.
