The talks are expected to focus on the promotion of bilateral relations, particularly in the economic sector, and on Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
Latvia joined NATO in April 2004 and the European Union on 1 May that year in the last wave of EU enlargement.
In all the talks with Croatian officials to date, Latvia has expressed full support for Croatia's aspirations to become a full member of the EU and NATO, seeing it as a key to stability in democracy in Southeast Europe.
The volume of trade between the two countries in 2004 stood at a mere USD4.6 million, with Croatian exports accounting for $3.2 million.
