The Slovene POP- TV commercial television network on Sunday evening quoted Drnovsek as saying that the duty to solve the problem should not be transferred to the European Union.
"It is a poor tactic of those who think that Slovenia can delegate the mandate for solving those problems to the European Union during Croatia's membership talks, and in a way coerce Croatia into accepting some solution," Drnovsek said, adding that the EU was not that much interested in solving problems in bilateral relations between a member-state and a candidate for EU membership.
If the two countries cannot reach their bilateral agreement, then the problem should be sent to an international court that will make a final verdict and ease the burden on the political front, Drnovsek said.
