Speaking to reporters after meeting the unit's wartime commanders Mile Dedakovic and Branko Borkovic, Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic said that all misunderstandings relating to the official status of the 204th Vukovar Brigade and its members had been settled at the meeting.
The commanders were given all the necessary information regarding the registration of war veterans and the number of members of the brigade to be promoted, the minister said, thanking Dedakovic and Borkovic for their help.
Dedakovic said that the unit was officially established on 26 September 1991 and that it would be formally lined up next year to mark its 15th anniversary.
After systematically pounding Vukovar for days with heavy artillery fire, Yugoslav Army and Serb paramilitary forces broke the defence lines and entered the town on 17 October 1991.
