ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic and the headof the Islamic community in Croatia, Mufti Sevko Omerbasic, havesigned a protocol on the spiritual guidance of Muslim members of theArmed Forces, the ministry said
in a press release on Wednesday.
ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic and the
head of the Islamic community in Croatia, Mufti Sevko Omerbasic, have signed a
protocol on the spiritual guidance of Muslim members of the Armed Forces, the
ministry said in a press release on Wednesday. Roncevic said the
protocol would provide for and protect the religious rights of both soldiers
and officers.
Omerbasic said the signing of the protocol was of historic importance
for the Islamic community in Croatia.
Also present at the signing was the chairman of the government
Commission for Religious Issues, Bozo Biskupic, who said the signing of the
protocol was a sign of good cooperation between the government and religious
communities, and that there were many other common points to be agreed on in
the near future.
