ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The international football federation FIFA
has fined the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) 26,000 euros for the improper
behaviour of Croatian supporters at the 2006 World Cup qualifier with
Hungary. During the game played in Budapest on 12 October, Croatian
hooligans threw fireworks into the pitch, and even fought among themselves at
the end of the first half.
FIFA, the world governing body for soccer, warned the HNS that any
further crowd disturbances by Croatia supporters would lead to more severe
sanctions.
The HNS was fined 55,000 Swiss franks in September over rioting by
Croatia fans after a qualifying match in Malta.
