Croatia wants to participate in the EU's foreign and security policy, including the EU neighbourhood policy, Jandrokovic said in an address to the two-day meeting, which today discussed the fight against terrorism and the EU neighbourhood policy.
The EU neighbourhood policy has been defined for the countries of the Caucasus, the Near East, North Africa and some countries of the former Soviet Union, Jandrokovic said.
Croatia's message is that the stabilisation of that area is important for the EU's stability, Jandrokovic said.
Britain's Minister for Europe Douglas Alexander and the European Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, Benita Ferrero-Waldner spoke about the importance of the EU neighbourhood policy for the prosperity of those countries and of EU citizens.
The EU wants to stabilise those areas, however, not by imposing but by encouraging reforms in them, Ferrero-Waldner said.
On Tuesday the meeting will discuss the reform of the United Nations.
