ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks on Tuesday congratulated Norbert Lammert on his appointment as president of the Bundestag, voicing hope it would provide an opportunity to establish closer cooperation between the two parliaments, Seks's office said in a press release.

Seks said a stable internal political situation and a swift economic revival in Germany were not only in the interest of its citizens, but also of all European states given the important role Germany plays in international politics and the world economy.

Seks voiced hope the closer cooperation between the Croatian and German parliaments would deepen the ties between the Croatian and German peoples and give an additional impetus to cooperation within European frameworks.
