The statement recalled Croatia's position, expressed in a government statement on August 25 after the Slovene government endorsed the bill on the protected ecological zone and continental shelf, when it said the bill was a legally void and unfounded document.
The statement said Croatia's unquestionable and lasting interest was to continue developing good neighbourly relations with Slovenia, and that it was ready to continue resolving all outstanding issues in an atmosphere of close partnership based on historical ties and friendship.
In that spirit, Croatian Foreign Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic today informed her Slovene counterpart Dimitrij Rupel of the Croatian government's formal proposal to have an international judicial body settle the issue of the Croatian-Slovene sea border.
