BELGRADE, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Council of the European Union decision toopen negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA)with Serbia and Montenegro, adopted in Luxembourg on Monday, is asignal that the state union has done "another step forward in theEuropean integration process," the Serbian government's office foradmission to the EU said in a press release.
BELGRADE, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Council of the European Union decision to open negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia and Montenegro, adopted in Luxembourg on Monday, is a signal that the state union has done "another step forward in the European integration process," the Serbian government's office for admission to the EU said in a press release.

The negotiations will be opened on October 10, when European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn will visit Belgrade to present a draft SAA to the authorities.

The first concrete negotiations on the contents of the SAA are expected to start in November, the press release said.
