In its latest report, the IMF estimates that Croatia's economy will grow by 3.4 percent in 2005 and by 3.9 percent in 2006. The estimated growth rate in the April report was 3.8 percent for 2005 and 4.5 percent for 2006.
The balance-of-payments deficit for 2005 and 2006 was revised as well and lowered to 4.8 and 4.1 percent respectively in relation to the April report, when the projected deficit was 5.0 percent for 2005 and 4.4 percent for 2006.
The estimated inflation rate in 2005 is slightly higher than in the April report and is projected at 3.0 percent, while in the April report it was projected at 2.7 percent. The forecast for 2006 remains unchanged at 2.5 percent.
The global rate of economic growth in 2005 is expected to be 4.3 percent, while in 2004 it was 5.1 percent. The forecast for this year has remained unchanged in relation to the April report, while the forecast for 2006 has been revised and lowered by 0.1 percent to 4.3 percent.
