On Thursday (15 September), Ecuador was the 30th country to ratify this UN convention, which has been signed by 129 countries of the world since October 2003 when the convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly.
The first global legal instrument for the fight against corruption will enter into force on 14 December this year, 90 days after its 30th ratification.
The Croatian branch of Transparency International reported on Saturday that Croatia was one of the first to sign the UN Convention Against Corruption and its parliament was the fourteenth national parliament which ratified it.
