ZAGREB, July 15 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament resumed its
session on Friday with a debate on the government-sponsored bill on the pension
fund through which 423,000 pensioners should be compensated and receive a
total of 13.8 billion kuna. The fund, which will work as an
investment fund, will open on 5 August, Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec
said.
The fund will send letters to home addresses of pensioners regarding
the amount of the debt and a request to specify whether they want the debt to
be settled regularly over the next eight years with a two-year waiting period
or if they wish that the debt be settled immediately a 50 percent discount.
