SPLIT, July 11 (Hina) - An agreement on the reconstruction of the
waste dump of Kerepovac outside Split was signed on Monday by the director of
the Croatian Environment Protection Fund, Vinko Mladineo, and Split Mayor
Zvonimr Puljic, in the presence of Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader. The investment totals 148 million kuna, and the Sanader cabinet will ensure
59.3 million kuna from this sum as a one-off assistance for this project.
Sanader said that the government had recently adopted a strategy for
waste management in next 20 years. The 2005-2025 strategy envisages investments
of 25 billion kuna for this purpose, he said.
