"I made an assessment, and the prime minister agreed, that a session of the committee should not be forced," Racan told reporters, expressing hope that more information would be available by then as to when the EU might open entry talks with Croatia.
The activities of the committee have been put on hold after the talks, which were due to have begun in March, were delayed following Croatia's failure to fully cooperate with the Hague war crimes tribunal.
Sanader said a few days ago he would meet Racan to discuss when the committee would convene.
Croatia's chief negotiator with the EU, Vladimir Drobnjak, is to propose a resolution containing strategic guidelines for the negotiations with the EU, which is then to be adopted by the Croatian Parliament.
