ZEMUNIK, July 1 (Hina) - An area of 200,000 square metres in the
hinterland of the coastal Croatian city of Zadar was cleaned of mines thanks to
the funds of 250,000 euros which the Italian government raised for this
purpose. Italian Consul Marco Nobili to Split, local authorities and
managers of the Zadar-based company Maraska, which will plant cherry trees
there, on Friday toured the area in the municipality of Zemunik Donji.
The Croatian Forests company, that is the owner of the said land,
granted a long-standing concession to the Maraska d.d. company which will plant
70,000 marasca cherry trees.
