Croatian minister: Too early to say if NATO will intervene in Libya

Autor: mses
BRUSSELS, March 10 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Davor Bozinovic, who was attending a NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels, said on Thursday that a possibility for the alliance to intervene in Libya was still remote as the United Nations Security Council had not yet decided anything on that matter.

With this possibility being remote, it is pointless to speculate whether Croatia would join such an operation, Bozinovic said in response to questions from Croatian reporters.

He said that there was nothing contentious in the fact that Croatian shipyards recently delivered six naval vessels to Libya.

"Croatian companies were concluding business deals with relevant Libyan institutions which were legitimate at the time the deals were made. It is out of the question that anyone in Croatia has violated UN sanctions, as this would not be allowed by the Croatian authorities nor by Croatian companies that behave responsibly," Bozinovc said.
