Croatian parliamentarian and OSCE Office head hold talks

Autor: mses
ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Parliament (Sabor) delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Tonino Picula, on Friday received the head of the OSCE Office in Zagreb, Ambassador Jose-Enrique Horcajada Schwartz, the Sabor's public relations office reported.

Their talks focused on the role of the OSCE mission in Croatia so far with Picula thanking this international organisation for assistance it offered to Croatia during 11-year-long active cooperation.

The two officials were agreed that Croatia had invested significant efforts and successfully developed a majority of areas covered by the OSCE programme, according to the Sabor's press release.

Their talks also focused on two areas of interest for the OSCE office in Croatia in the context of the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights policy chapter in Croatia's European Union accession negotiations and those are the monitoring of war crimes trials in Croatia and the monitoring of the implementation of the Croatian government's programme for housing care for returnees.

Picula and Schwartz also discussed plans for the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly scheduled for 7-10 October in Dubrovnik.
