Guardian Mirko Majdancic thanked the president for Croatia's assistance for the reconstruction of the monastery. The monastery and its 40,000-book library suffered extensive damage during the 1990s war.
The book is a heraldic collection created in 1675 and contains 139 coats of arms of provinces and noble families from the 13th and 14th centuries from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia.
The first reprint, a Croatian-English edition, was published in 1972. Many legends surround the collection, which is believed to have arrived to Fojnica near Sarajevo from the southern Croatian coastal town of Dubrovnik.
