ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - Three Croatian officers left Zagreb on Mondayfor a year-long regular mission as military observers in the UN peacemission in Ethiopia and Eritrea.
ZAGREB, June 6 (Hina) - Three Croatian officers left Zagreb on Monday for a year-long regular mission as military observers in the UN peace mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Croatian officers monitor the implementation of a peace accord signed after the Ethiopian-Eritrean war, which erupted in May 1998 due to border conflicts. Croatia is one of 40 countries participating in the local UN Mission and its first officers arrived there on 9 March 2001.

The Croatian officers who departed Zagreb today are majors Miroslav Sirinic and Predrag Popovic and Captain Ilija Komljen.
