THE HAGUE, May 27 (Hina) - Italian authorities have informed the Officeof the Prosecutor (OTP) at the International Criminal Tribunal for theformer Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague that the person arrested with afake passport was not
fugitive indictee Ante Gotovina as reported bythe Slovene commercial POP TV network, OTP spokeswoman FlorenceHartmann told Hina by telephone on Friday evening.

Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) at the International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague that the person arrested with a fake
passport was not fugitive indictee Ante Gotovina as reported by the Slovene
commercial POP TV network, OTP spokeswoman Florence Hartmann told Hina by
telephone on Friday evening. Prosecutors have checked the report on
the arrest of a person with a fake passport in Italy on May 24 and have found
that the person arrested is not the wanted indictee, Hartmann said.
Croatian Army General Ante Gotovina has been on the run ever since the
ICTY issued an indictment against him in June 2001.
