Valadares conveyed a personal message from the Brazilian president regarding the reform of the United Nations, particularly the Security Council, the Office of the President said in a press release.
The meeting came at a time of Croatia's efforts to win non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
During a brief conversation, Mesic highlighted the importance of the World Organisation, noting that it needed to be adjusted to the changed international relations.
Mesic said that Croatia supported initiatives directed at enlarging the Security Council by increasing the number of its permanent and non-permanent members.
