Loncaric was questioned by a Zagreb County Court investigating judge on Wednesday, but since the subject of that questioning was the forging of a passport for runaway businessman Hrvoje Petrac, the information Loncaric had on Gotovina's passport was not officially recorded, Municipal Prosecutor Vesna Abramovic told Hina.
"We have therefore requested that Loncaric be interviewed again," she said, adding that the prosecution suggested that Loncaric also be questioned about the forging of a passport for fugitive Libero Matekovic, who together with Petrac has been sentenced to prison for involvement in the kidnapping of retired general Vladimir Zagorac's teenage son.
The person charged with the forging of passports for the most wanted Croatian fugitives is Franjo Katavic, who the police believe was incited to forgery by retired police officer Salih Fazlic and attorney Marijan Pedisic.
Apart from Loncaric's questioning, the prosecution today also requested the court to keep Katavic in detention for another month. He is expected to be released from custody on May 28.
Investigating judge Zdenko Posavec confirmed for Hina that Katavic would be remanded in custody, and that the request for Loncaric's questioning would be decided on next week.
In several previous interviews, Katavic has admitted all he is charged with. After admitting that he forged a passport for Gotovina, which is the basis of this case, Katavic mentioned to the investigating judge of his own will the forging of passports for Hrvoje Petrac and Libero Matekovic.
