"The Croatian Government will invest more efforts into solving economic issues," Sanader said stressing he did not exclude the possibility of some other changes, notably in the central office for development strategy. He said changes in the tax policy were also possible.
Commenting on a possible health reform, the PM said the current health insurance plan was not sustainable.
Commenting on the process of drawing closer to the European Union, Sanader said the course of events clearly confirmed his standpoint that drawing closer to the EU was not only a priority of the foreign policy but also of home affairs. Negotiations directly effect home affairs, Croatia's rating with foreign investors and the country's drawing closer to the EU is directly connected with Croatia's economic progress, Sanader said. This is why we will do all that we can to get the date for the start of negotiations, the PM said.
Asked about the announced reform in secret services, the PM said he and President Stjepan Mesic had set up a task force dealing with that, but added that no final decision was made.
