The EUPM issued a press release on Thursday expressing surprise at the claims made by the director of the Bosnian Serb entity police, Dragomir Andan, who said yesterday that police possessed information on the existence of terrorist groups in Bosnia that were involved in the Madrid attack.
The EUPM expects "Director Andan to forward credible intelligence with regard to serious terrorist activities in BiH immediately for investigation and not announcing it at press briefings".
"The EUPM is encouraged whenever the police share information with the public to further confidence in their work. However, when this concerns information on investigations of serious crime matters, such as potential terrorist activities that may affect the security of BiH as a whole, then the EUPM expects such information to be passed to the appropriate law enforcement authority, which is SIPA (the State Investigation and Protection Agency), in full and without delay for immediate investigations," the press release reads.
