The Croatian government decided on Sunday that 4 and 5 April would be days of mourning as well as the day when the pontiff will be buried.
Cardinals in the Vatican will on Monday decide on the date of the Holy Father's funeral. The burial has to be organised between four to six days after his death.
During the days of mourning, flags on all state institutions and institutions of local authorities will be lowered to half-mast.
No sporting, cultural or entertaining events can be held on those days.
