ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - Two Croatian police officers - MladenVrataric and Nenad Tuskanac - on Thursday arrived in Cyprus where theywill be engaged over the next year in the UN Mission in Cyprus (UNCYP)which was set up in 1964 so as
to prevent further conflicts betweenlocal Greeks and Turks and establish peace on the island.
ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - Two Croatian police officers - Mladen
Vrataric and Nenad Tuskanac - on Thursday arrived in Cyprus where they will be
engaged over the next year in the UN Mission in Cyprus (UNCYP) which was set up
in 1964 so as to prevent further conflicts between local Greeks and Turks and
establish peace on the island. Since last year another two Croats
have been deployed in the mission as staff officers, the Croatian Interior
Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Croatia is the first country to have its representatives both in the
military and the civilian-police component of the UN mission.
Vrataric and Tuskanac will be observers and liaison officers of the
UN.
