The Bosnian government sources told the newspaper that Terzic had declined to attend the Crans Montana Forum, which is taking place in Zagreb this week, in protest at the alleged refusal by Croatia to discuss two burning issues -- the free trade agreement and the agreement on the use of the southern Croatian Adriatic port of Ploce by Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Bosnian Minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Affairs, Dragan Doko, said that Croatia had failed to respond to the request by Bosnia-Herzegovina that a joint commission discuss amendments to the Agreement on Free Trade.
"We have twice requested a discussion on the agreements, but we have received no answer yet," Doko told Nezavisne Novine.
The Council of Ministers recently imposed customs duties on certain agricultural products from Croatia that had been exempt from customs under the earlier Agreement on Free Trade.
"We are open to discussing all these issues with Bosnia-Herzegovina as our neighbour and friend," Croatian government spokesman Ratko Macek told the newspaper. He, however, declined to comment Terzic's absence from the Crans Montana Forum.
The Council of Ministers said in a statement on Tuesday, the day before the meeting of the Crans Montana Forum in Zagreb, that Terzic would be unable to attend due to ongoing talks with the International Monetary Fund.
