PULA, April 12 (Hina) - Representatives of the Association of
Anti-fascist Fighters and the Association of Homeland War Volunteers and
Veterans from the northern Adriatic city of Pula on Tuesday signed a
declaration on cooperation defining the association's activities in protecting
the basic values of the World War II National Liberation Struggle (NOB) and the
Homeland War. The two organisations will cooperate in promoting
Croatia's reputation, peace in the world, human rights, parliamentary democracy
and other achievements of modern democratic societies and by participating in
the work of the World Veterans Organisation.
The president of the Istria County Association of Anti-fascist
Fighters, Miho Valic, welcomed the agreement, stating that it was a step
towards equating the rights of anti-fascist fighters and Homeland War
veterans.
The leader of the Association of Homeland War Volunteers and Veterans,
Marijan Muzinic, said that the work from the NOB had been continued in the
Homeland War, and that Croatia could be developed exclusively on the
foundations of anti-fascism.
